What We Talk About When We Talk About DBZ

dbz 1

Dragon Ball Z is probably the most recognized anime in existence right now. Just about everyone plugged in to pop culture has at least heard of Goku and his exploits or seen a guy with spiky blonde hair screaming to the heavens. DBZ is iconic, and now that the generation that grew up with this show has entered adulthood, it benefits even further from a nice, thick layer of nostalgia.

But is DBZ actually good? Has that nostalgia managed to blind an entire generation from seeing the truth behind this anime? Why has it lasted in the limelight as long as it has?

I intend to find out.
